Intoxication by pharmacology

mechanism of action:

5 days non stop reading katzung or lippincot

symptoms:

1) general disturbances such as head ache, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea n vomitting
2) tachycardia, palpitation, sweating, insomnia
3) increase of appetite (dpnds on pt, diff ppl diff adaptation)
4) significance symptom:
- when u start using complex sentences in ur daily life.
e.g. normal ppl --> "i think im having a depression...i need a rest!"
pt with pharmaco intox --> "i think im having insufficiency of monoamine in
my synapse somewhere in my brain..i dunno maybe
norepinephrine or serotonin...i need an
antidepression...give me some imipramine, phenelzin
or whatever..."

- when u start thinking of naming ur future children with a drugs name such as monteleukast, zafirleukast, amantadine, norepinephnire, ephidrine etc...

- when everytime u wanna go to sleep, every time u want to close ur eyes.....complex drugs names start bombarding ur mind............codeine, atropine, pancreatin, methimazole, chlorpromazine, omeprasole........

Complication:
1) withdrawal syndrome --> rare
2) physical n psychological dependance --> rare

antidote:
1) avoid pharmaco completely
2) F.R.I.E.N.D.S series (this one will surely get ur mind away from pharmaco)
